About Us

Shelter Valley Land and Cattle is a family-owned and managed feedlot located in Czar, Alberta. It was established in June 2005.

Shelter Valley offers a range of custom feeding options to further our client's individual needs and maximize their cattle's overall performance. Custom feeding allows our clients the flexibility to market their cattle with limit feeding or finishing on a high grain ration. Shelter Valley's consultant nutritionist specially formulates rations to provide the optimum nutrition for the cattle.

The well-being of cattle in Shelter Valley's care is a top priority as we are a low-stress handling facility. We work closely with our local veterinarians to make sure we are providing the utmost care to our client's cattle. We ensure the cattle are always treated humanely and respectfully, providing a comfortable and consistent home for all cattle on our premises. We are Verified Beef Production Plus certified. Meaning, we adhere to VBP+ stringent animal welfare guidelines, ensuring cattle in the feedlot are all looked after.


The North Feedlot is located at Range Rd 70, Hughenden, Alberta.Has a capacity
to feed 25000 hd of cattle at any given time.

10000 hd of cattle at any given time.
